Our story
Ordinary people, extraordinary grace.
Riverstone began in a living room with twelve people and one conviction: the church should feel like family.
How we began
From a living room in 2012 to a family of 1,200+.

2012
In the spring of 2012, Pastor David and Amara Okafor opened their home to twelve friends who were hungry for a church that felt honest — no performance, no polish, just Jesus and each other. The living room filled. Then the garage. Then a rented school gym.
2017
In 2017 we moved into our permanent home on Grace Avenue, and what started as a small gathering has become a multi-generational family of more than 1,200 — young professionals, single parents, students, skeptics, and saints, all learning to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Today
Through every season the conviction has stayed the same: the church is not a building you attend, it is a family you belong to.

What we value
Four things we refuse to compromise.
01
The Word
Scripture is our final authority — taught honestly, applied practically, never watered down.
02
Worship
Whole-hearted, Spirit-led worship that makes much of Jesus and expects God to move.
03
Community
Circles over rows. We do life in small groups where everyone is known, loved, and challenged.
04
Mission
Blessed to be a blessing — we exist for the people who are not here yet, in Austin and beyond.
Leadership
Led by shepherds, not performers.
Our team is made up of people who pray before they plan and serve before they speak. Get to know the pastors and directors who keep Riverstone rooted and reaching.
